On the 16th March 1945, the City of Haguenau, in Northern Alsace, was liberated at last from the nazi occupation. In order to evoke the 60th Anniversary of this Liberation, the aeronautical associations of the Aerodrome of Haguenau have gathered their energy into a partnership to organize on the 18th and 19th June the "Airshow of the Liberation".
This event will target a wide audience, since we will propose both an airdisplay of airplanes from the 30's up to now), a ground static display (airplane static exhibition, vehicles from the 39-45 period and US camp) and a splendid exhibition "Ciel d'Alsace 1944-1945".
As a prelude to this eventful week-end, a conference and debate will be organized on the Friday 17 June 2005 in the evening. After the projection of the film "Memphis Belle" (in the original, uncut version), Americans, English, German and French ace pilots engaged in the battle over Alsace will evoke this page of aeronautical history. These veterans will also be present during the two following days.
