I'm not sectarian and for me the word "fan" does not mean fanatism in the etymological sens of the term.
For sure since I discovered Mr.Bungle and some other, it takes a growing place in my musical culture.
But I also like all kind of music that comes out from the traced path called success, industry, where people talk about commercial concessions...
Music doesn't need concessions towards the greatest number.
