About
Shipping
The least expensive way to
ship many pieces of furniture is to fill your own 20' or 40'
container (there is not much of a difference in price between a
20' and a 40'). I will search specifically for
you and pick up
your pieces. You must buy exclusively from me. You will get an 18 %
discount on the official price of each item.
Interim
storage: I store all items in my warehouse, until they
are ready to be shipped.
Wrapping: I
deal with the safe wrapping of your pieces. However, when you
unload, be aware that each piece is fragile (even the
light ones). Each piece of marble, glass or mirrors, is wrapped
even more carefully, and "Fragile" is written on the
package. A fee of 900€ is required to cover wrapping
material & loading labor.
Scheduling: I
set up loading and departure dates.
Shipping: I
choose the transporter. The container is loaded in front of my warehouse, travels by barge over the Rhine to Belgium's harbor, then is shipped to the closest harbor of your location in
US and after having gone through US Customs, is trucked directly to your shop.
French Customs: I
deal with all French regulations.
US Customs: Your
Broker will determine and pay US Customs and
Terminal fees.
Insurance: Insurance
pricing is based on the value of the total purchase. Insurance never covers each piece - it can - but
this would require a formal appraisal, by a certified French expert
- and this is very expensive. So the insurance covers damage
or loss to the whole container - this has never happened to me,
but insurance is required. If you discover a problem on a
fragile piece when unloading the container, I will pay for the
damage. I am responsible until the container arrives at your
shop.
