Reuters has reported thatSLOTXOSouth Korean software designer Jung Ki-young has spent 430,000 won (approximately 11,700 baht) on the design and production of an Internet Explorer web browser mourning stone plaque. The legendary Sehr officially ended support on June 15, 2022, after Microsoft has been providing it since 1995.

The memorial stone plaque is located on the rooftop of a café in Gyeongju. South Korea Chung's older brother is the owner. with the inscription of the Internet Explorer logo with a mourning “He is a good tool for downloading other browsers.”


Jung told Reuters this was a reminder of the program being a key part of his career. Although other programs such as Chrome and Firefox have replaced Internet Explorer in terms of prominence and popularity, Jung's customers always ask him if their website looks as good as Internet Explorer.

Even with the official end of support, Microsoft plans to support Internet Explorer in some cases, such as Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft's Edge web browser until 2029, and in some countries like Japan. This web browser will continue to be used by businesses and government agencies.
