Red Sea coral expedition to monitor global warming Sudanese scientists are set to slotxo take part in an expedition on the coast of the Red Sea, hoping to shed light on how corals are coping with global warming. Studies have found that reefs in its northern waters have an unusual capacity to endure significantly higher temperatures. While corals in many parts of the world have been destroyed in bleaching episodes, those in the Gulf of Aqaba appear to have been unaffected. The Israeli-led expedition will also include scientists from a number of other Arab and European countries. |
